Pardon my ignorance in this subject. I’ve been wanting to switch to an external antenna for the 4G base hat with the Telit LE910C4-NF I have an antenna with an SMA male connector and I ordered the IPEX–>SMA female adapter, but it turns out the connector that goes to the modem board is too small. I’m trying to get some clarity on what the exact name of that connector is so that I can order the correct adapter.
The small RF connectors on the Telit LE910C4-NF module are U.FL connectors (also known as I-PEX MHF1). They are much smaller than standard SMA connectors, which is why your current SMA adapter does not fit.
What you need is a U.FL (MHF1) to SMA Female pigtail cable:
The U.FL (MHF1) end snaps onto the modem board.
The SMA Female end connects to your external antenna if it has an SMA Male plug.
Make sure the cable specifically says MHF1 (U.FL)—other types like MHF3 or MHF4 are smaller and will not fit.
Also note that the module has MAIN and AUX (diversity) antenna ports; using antennas on both ports can improve LTE performance.
