Raspberry 3 A+ with 3G/4G & LTE Base HAT

Greetings,

I wanted to build a setup for many units with 3G/4G & LTE Base HAT and a Quectel EC25 Mini PCIe 4G/LTE Module on a Raspberry 3 A+ which has only 1 USB port.

My question is will the GPS and 4G work at the same time?
I see different USB ports in the documentation for read/write from the GPS and maybe the 4g uses a different port. They have the B+ with 4 USB ports, but the A+ has only 1 USB port.

Thank you in advance,
Bill K.

Yes, you should be able to access the modem just fine through one USB port, and in my experiments GPS and 4G work simultaneously, although I used the Telit and not the Quectel.

Note that when the device is hooked up, it allocates several virtual USB serial ports for various functions. How exactly those ports are allocated depends very much on the configuration of the modem. My advice is unless you really know what you are doing, the best bet is to work with the factory default power on configuration.
