I’m currently designing a rain proof case for a RPi with the LTE hat to be mounted under a drone.
Besides the antennas, whose cables are always to short for everything, the USB connector between the shield and the RPi is the biggest hindrance. No matter how I try to design the case, this dreaded cable always gets in the way.
Would it be possible to offer a USB connector with a lower profile? Especially the micro USB connector should end right after the actual plug body, e.g. by soldering it directly to a PCB part, similar to the connectors for the Jetson Nano.
Would anybody else care for this or is it really just me?
