Power standalone IOT hat

I’d like to power Cellular IOT Hat without stacking it on top of RPi and use it via USB. USB alone cannot power (even when pressing PWRKEY) it so do I need to use JST connector? What are all the options when it comes to power?

Hi @ivan.zhidov,

To use the HAT Standalone, the 5V & VBUS needs to be shorted.

Thank you for the explanation. When using it in standalone mode, I have to use PWRKEY to turn it on. I dont think I can use the library to manage the device so how do I keep it on between reboots when using it as a standalone device?

You cannot do this when using it as a standalone device, but you can do it by stacking it on the Raspberry Pi.
