I have been trying to get the Telit ME910C1 working smoothly with my base hat. I was directed to update the firmware by posts here Cellular Connection Unavailable Telit ME910C1 - Cellular Modules / Telit ME910C1-WW LTE Module - Sixfab Community. Upon following these steps the firmware installation went well for several minutes until it hit this error

I didnt know any better so I restarted the firmware installer to see if it would succeed if I ran it again. The second time it ran for much less time and terminated with this error.
>>> check m2m engine state start
Disable M2M engine during TFI operations
Cannot create file on module!
cannot write firmware/vsim_disable to modem!
Global duration 00:00:30.422
After this the modem is no longer showing up on the serial ports of my windows pc or my raspberry pi and the updater repeatedly shows this message
something went wrong with modem diag port - TRY TO POWER CYCLE MANUALLY
I have cycled the power several times and the modem is not coming back up. Is there some way to restore the modem to factory settings? I don’t know how to go about this since I cannot connect to it in the first place to send some kind of restore command.
Here are the last couple seconds of lines from the logfile it dumped when things went bad.
