J4 input characteristics

I was wondering if there was a VI curve that shows the minimum recommended voltage/current that should be targeted for J4 across it’s supported input voltage, and also shows any limits (either enforced, or precautionary)?

I am seeing some interesting characteristics when plugging solar into the system, and wanting more data on the UPS side to allow me to work my way through what I am seeing to figure out what is going on…

Hi @snrklotomus,

We continue to work on this. It is recommended to keep input voltage above 5V and current above 400-500 mA.

I have finally dragged home a benchtop power supply from work to test this…

Seems that when running a Raspi ZeroW, the system won’t pull more than around 5W from the J4 connector…

I have also noticed that the web software seems to like sticking at 19.52V and either 0.3A or 0.25 A…

See the discrepancy between the PSU and the data reported by the hat to the power.sixfab.com site?

I have measured the PSU with a multimeter, and it is accurate… I also took current measurements inline with the PSU, and the current was always spot on with what the PSU was reporting…
