Does a module like the EC25 require the GPS/GNSS antenna?

Hello,

I am interested in using an EC25 module in a device that provides its own antennas, but does not have a GNSS antenna. I know that these modules would typically be mated with an antenna array like this one that includes a GNSS antenna, but is this required for LTE connectivity?

Is GPS optional, or is the GNSS antenna required for connecting to an LTE cellular carrier?
